Arohana Educational & Cultural Trust (R) was established in the year 2011 with the noble objective of promoting educational and cultural development in rural Karnataka, particularly in Mysore District.
Somanathapura, a historic village renowned for the magnificent Chennakeshava Temple — a masterpiece of Hoysala architecture — served as the inspiration and guiding force behind the establishment of this educational institution. The Trust was founded with the vision of serving the educational and cultural needs of rural children and empowering them through quality education rooted in values and tradition.
BACKGROUND / THE GENESIS
Arohana Educational & Cultural Trust (R) emerged from the collective vision of 15 socially committed rural youth who were actively engaged in community service. During their interactions and discussions, they observed the growing trend of rural families migrating to cities solely to provide “Good and Quality Education” for their children.
This migration often compelled families to abandon their farming, businesses, and most importantly, their close-knit family structure, leaving behind elderly parents who needed the care, love, and affection of their children during the later stages of life.
At the same time, it was noticed that the rich cultural heritage and diversity of rural Karnataka were gradually losing their significance over the past few decades. Recognizing these challenges, Arohana Educational & Cultural Trust (R) was founded with the aim of providing life-supportive, real-time education while nurturing and preserving the vibrant rural culture as an integral part of the school curriculum.
